In recognising the significant contributions made by its students, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held an award ceremony, named the Persatuan Mahasiswa/Mahasiswi UBD (PMUBD) Inspirasee Awards, which was organised by the Executive Committee of Media and Public Relation Officer (EMPRO). The event took place on Saturday, 25th February 2023, at the Senate Meeting Room, Chancellor Hall, UBD. It was attended by Dayang Rozita binti Haji Tamin, Deputy Dean of Students PMUBD, as the Guest of Honour, as well as the PMUBD Inspirasee nominees, and students of UBD.

The ceremony was dedicated to proactive students with remarkable contributions inside and outside of UBD. There were 15 PMUBD Inspirasee nominees, comprising five nominees from each of the three Inspirasee categories: Leadership, Community, and Business.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Doa Selamat, and Doa Kesyukuran, followed by the opening remarks by the chairperson of PMUBD Inspirasee, Nabilah Assyahirah binti Haji Norman. Afterwards was the presentation of PMUBD Inspirasee, highlighting the history of the initiative and its significance. Nabilah Assyahirah emphasised that she hopes the nominees can inspire the students to strive towards human excellence, aligning with PMUBD’s mission. The awards ceremony was officiated by the Guest of Honour, Dayang Rozita binti Haji Tamin.

The event then proceeded with the certificate awarding ceremony to the PMUBD Inspirasee nominees of their respective categories. Alongside that

was the certificate awarding ceremony to committee members as an appreciation for being part of the PMUBD Inspirasee organising committee.

Towards the end of the event, PMUBD Inspirasee Awards included the prize presentation for the ‘Most Inspired Nominee’ from each of the three categories. As voted by the students of UBD, the ‘Most Inspired Nominees’ are: Nur Amal Batrisyia @ Syasya binti Mohamad for the Leadership Inspirasee category; Farhah Syahirah binti Mohamad Shamrin for the Community Inspirasee category; and Ahmad Huzaimi bin Johari for the Business Inspirasee category.

 

The award ceremony concluded with the recitation of Surah Al-Asr. The PMUBD Inspirasee is aimed at encouraging participation and initiatives from the students of UBD in achieving holistic development towards human excellence.
